“Health Promotion in the Community” podcast series

The most basic intervention in health care is prevention of disease, prolonging life and promoting health. Community Health Workers also known as CHWs, play an essential role in this. In most regions, Community Health Workers are members of a community chosen by their own community members, organizations or the formal health system to provide basic health and medical care to their community. CHWs must acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to promote health and prevent diseases at individual, household and community levels.

This series of podcasts cover key learnings on ‘Health promotion in the community’. Whilst the podcasts are based on the Kenyan Ministry of Health’s CHW Curriculum, these podcasts will be of relevance to health workers all over the world.
